An aimless youth joins a gang out of a sense of gratitude, but complications arise when he falls in love with the sister of the new police officer in town.

Surya (Sabyasachi) and Gitanjali (Arpita) are smart college students. Surya falls in love with Gitanjali at first sight. Ajay (Sukanta) is a split brat and is the son of local M.L.A. Abinash (Pradyumna Lenka).Ajay likes Gitanjali and thus proposes to her. When Gitanjali refuses, Ajay threatens that he will jump from the college roof top. Being a meek girl, Gitanjali accepts the proposal and starts dating Ajay. Meanwhile, Surya proposes to Gitanjali. In the presence of Gitanjali's boy friend Ajay, Gitanjali refuses. But Surya doesn't yet to give up on her as he feels that Gitanjali doesn't love Ajay truly. Surya tries to impress Gitanjali sincerely without creating a rift between the two. The film is all about how Surya tries to win Gitanjali with his attitude and positive out look.

Ravi falls for a seemingly ordinary girl. However, grief overcomes him when he discovers that she is, in fact, his boss's daughter who is pretending in order to assess his love.

Mahi and his family shelters Veni after her grandfather's death. He also tries to find Veni's boyfriend who is missing.

Panicker (Madhu) is an honest Public Works Department engineer who assiduously resists offers of bribes by an assortment of local building contractors. Panicker's one ambition is to see his son, Unni (Mammootty) succeed in medical school. Unni and his friends (Mohanlal et al) set up a "house of sin" right behind the college. The other boys are from wealthy families, to keep up with them, Unni starts by stealing from his parents, eventually taking bribes on his father's behalf without his knowledge. In the process, he alienates his father and gets thrown out of home, leaving his mother (Srividya) and cousin/girlfriend (Poornima) torn between the two men. The film equates bribery and debauchery with western popular culture influences - which was a fairly common theme across films in Hindi and Tamil as well around that time.

Chetan is a photographer who lives with his friend, Pyarelal, in Versova, Bombay. While on an assignment, he photographs beautiful Sonali near the Bombay Airport. When they return home, they find a backpack in the back of their truck, and on opening it, find it belongs to Sonali. Chetan falls in love with Sonali and starts to woo her as Pyarelal. But his charade soon comes to an end when Sonali finds out that he has been lying to her. An incident involving her redeems him in her eyes and both fall in love with each other. Than Sonali's mom, Dhanlaxmi, returns from America with a man named P.K. Roy, his wife, and son, who she would like to get married to Sonali. Since Chetan is not wealthy, Dhanlaxmi rejects him, and forces her daughter to re-locate to their Jaipur house where she plans to go ahead with the marriage. The question remains what can poor Chetan do to himself a suitable candidate for Sonali, and how is he ever going to convince Dhanlaxmi to change her mind about him.

A reigning monarch, Raja Mahendra Pratap, in India has a problem, to be precise five problems, from five different wives, all deceased now, in the shape and form of his sons, Shiv, Veer, Gyan, Rudra, and Surya, who have grown up, are matured, but still behave like children. While one son is on the look out for a golden deer; the other goes through their swimming pool looking for a mermaid; the third is a walking talking Bollywood directory full of dialogs from Mughal-E-Azam and Sholay; the fourth is obsessed with Raat Rani; and the fifth with kites of all shapes and colors. In order to find a solution, the Raja consults with Dr. Lapadia, who advises him to get his sons married. For this purpose, Dr. Lapadia brings five women, namely Noorie Topaz, Geeta Delhiwali, Sita Devi, Julie Lele, and Bobby Veerappa. The five women befriend the five brothers, hot romance ensues, and soon the brothers believe that their problems have been solved and each has met his soul-mate.
